Ryan Lizza ( Ryan Christopher Lizza) an American political journalist working as a senior political analyst for CNN and Chief Correspondent in Washington for Politico. He previously served as a political reporter for The New Yorker but was dismissed following sexual misconduct allegations in the light of the Me Too movement.

Lizza began his career working at the Center for Investigative Reporting in San Francisco on the Frontline documentary Hot Guns. He currently serves as CNN’s current senior political analyst and the chief correspondent for Politico in Washington. He as well worked for The New Yorker for 10 years, as from 2007 to 2017 as a political editor and covered the White House and presidential politics and wrote the Magazine’s Letter From Washington column.

He as well penned the profiles of Mitt Romney, John McCain, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, Michele Bachmann, and Paul Ryan, among others. As of 1998 to 2007, he served for The New Republic as a Senior Editor. AND has covered the Florida recount, the Bush White House, the 2004 presidential election, and Bill Clinton’s impeachment.

Ryan Lizza The New Yorker and Fired

Lizza previously served The New Yorker as their political editor from 2007 to the time he was dismissed 2017. The New Yorker dismissed Ryan following sexual misconduct allegations that emerged as a result of the Me Too movement.

On his dismissal, Ryan told Politico that: “The New Yorker has decided to characterize a respectful relationship with the woman I dated as somehow inappropriate. The New Yorker was unable to cite any company policy that was violated. I am sorry to my friends, workplace colleagues, and loved ones for any embarrassment this episode may have caused.” Lizza continued and said: “I love The New Yorker, my home for the last decade, and I have the highest regard for the people who work there. But this decision, which was made hastily and without a full investigation of the relevant facts, was a terrible mistake.”

CNN temporarily suspended him n pending an investigation. Six weeks later, CNN announced that “after an extensive investigation,” they had not found a reason to keep Lizza “off-air” hence reinstating him.
