Jamie Durie Biography
Jamie Durie is an Australian horticulturalists and landscape designer, furniture designer, television host, television producer, and an author of eleven books on landscape architecture, garden design, and lifestyle. In 2009 he hosted the dynamic design makeover show HGTV Showdown.

Durie was born on June 3, 1970, in Sydney, New South Wales, in Australia.

Durie was rasied up in West Australia, a mining town to Dave and Joy. His parents split when he was only ten years of age. Then, Jamie, his mother, and older brother Chris moved to be with their maternal grandparents in Gold Coast.
He was close to his grandparents sharing that it was the nicest period of his life. Jamie’s mom is a busy woman who likes to be associated with several things such as sewing, baking, bushwalking, and charity works for hospitals.
In an interview in August 2018, he said that his mom grrew up in 60 different types of fruits and vegetables in her backyard. Additionally, she as well taught local school kids about growing a veggie garden. Currently, she lives in Cairns to be closer to Chris and his kids.

He then engaged to Siobhan Way, a jewelry designer and then fell in love again with Nadine Bush whom they eventually broke up with. He as well got engaged to Lisa Christie. Due to Jamie cheating, Lisa broke off the engagement.
He has a daughter, namedTaylor, with his ex-girlfriend Michelle Glenrock. The duo met when they were both 18 and became parents in their mid 20’s.

Back 1988, Jamie founded the landscape design company named Patio Landscape Architecture and Design. He as well registered the Australian business company, JPD Medis & Design in 2000. He hosted on Australian reality show DIY television programs. He as wel got to be the main host and the lead landscaper on the garden makeover program Backyard Blitz, on the Nine Network from 2000 to 2005.
On the Nine Network, he hosted the show The Block which ran for two consecutive seasons 2003 and 2006. He as well took part participated in the 6th Australian series of Dancing with the Stars in 2007, he got removed in 7th place on 17 April 2007. In the same year, he as well hosted a lifestyle garden program Australia’s Best Backyards on the Seven Network
The same year he filmed lifestyle segments with Oprah Winfrey, on the Oprah Winfrey Network. He has as well hosted the US PBS series The Victory Garden from 2007 to 2010, and the dynamic design makeover show HGTV Showdown on the HGTV network in 2009.
He as well also the host of the Australian lifestyle program The Outdoor Room, broadcast on Seven Network in 2008. He also co-presented as a visiting expert in gardening and landscaping, on the program Living Room since 2015. He earned quad triple winner of the Logie Award for Most Popular Lifestyle Program, that airs on Network Ten. Back in 2019, he joined Australia Seven Network reality renovation series House Rules as a new judge.
