Daniel was born to Lionel Blair (born Henry Lionel Blair Ogus) and Susan Blair (born Susan Davis). He was raised up along with his two siblings, Lucy Blair and Matt Blair. His father, Lionel Blair, passed away on November 4th, 2021, at age 92 and he left behind his wife, Susan Blair, their daughter, Lucy Blair, two sons, David Blair and Matthew Blair, and three grandchildren. His sister, Joyce, a well-known performer in her own right, died in 2006.

Daniel Blair is the son to Lionel Blair, the British TV star. His father relocated to the UK at a young age and began acting when he was 14, immediately becoming a standout dancer. He as well featured in a comedic dance-off against Sammy Davis Jr at the Royal Variety Performance in 1961 and as a choreographer in the Beatles film A Hard Day’s Night.

He later became a household name in the early 1980s since his recruitment by the team captain on ITV gameshow Give Us A Clue. He as well featured on various other gameshows and TV formats throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

Back in 2007, he got lauded for his role in Ricky Gervais’ Extras Christmas special as one of the housemates in a fictional version of Celebrity Big Brother, and later featured in other formats such as the real Celebrity Big Brother and BBC1’s Real Marigold Hotel.
