J.R. Lewis Career
Lewis remembers when KTVF-TV and KFRB Radio (now KCBF, I believe ) were co-located downtown in the Northward building when he was still young. His parents worked late, he would go to the KTVF studio and throw paper airplanes around, hoping that Augie Hiebert (the founder of KTVF) wouldn’t catch him.
He is well experienced in radio a field he picked as he professionally worked for his father at KAYY (now Magic 101.1) while he was 14 years old. He began working with at KAYY till 1992, and then at KLAM-AM in Cordova, that his wife and Lewis bought back in 1994. They kept KCDV-FM on the air in Cordova (would you believe Augie came down for the launch??), and as of then, we have owned and operated both stations in 1997.
He is known ifor having been given the privilege of joining this excellent team of professionals. The Newscenter 11 team cares deeply about what they do and hopes that all of us — rookies and vets — continues to work with Fairbanks with the dedication and integrity that this community deserves.
