Rick Warren an American pastor and evangelist who is the founder and senior pastor of Saddleback Church. He is well known for his book, The Purpose-Driven Life (2002) and he is currently one of the most influential Evangelical Christians in the United States of America.

Rick and his wife Kay founded Saddleback Church where he currently serves as the senior pastor. His fans, he is Pastor Rick but to his immediate congregation, they call him Papa Rick. On the Easter Sunday back in 1980, Saddleback Church held its first public service in Lake Forest, California, with a congregation of 205 people. Surprisingly, most attendees had never been to church.

After three decades, the church has grew to over 20,000 members with 6 Sunday services. Subsequently, The church currently has over 30 affiliate churches and has sent nearly 5,000 members on mission projects around the world.

Since they established their church, Saddleback Valley Community Church in 1980, Rick has risen to be one of the nation’s top pastors. His book, The Purpose Driven Church is echoed by many pastors citing its influence on following their pastoral call. He has also been mentoring youths all through.

After he noticed how influential the book was, Warren established the Purpose Driven Network, a global alliance of pastors from more than 160 countries. In addition, he also founded Pastors.com, an online interactive community that air sermons, forums, and other helpful resources for pastors.

In addition, Warren gives 90 percent of his income away to charity. To support his charity work, his church does a lot of ministries with the poor in their community. There is no doubt that Rick has a calling in helping the poor.

Rick married to Kay Warren back in 1975. His wife is an author and international speaker. The two are blessed with three children named Matthew Warren, Amy Warren, and Josh Warren. The duo and the founders of Saddleback Church.

Rick Warren Education

Warren enrolled at Ukiah High School later graduating in 1972. He then joined California Baptist University where he got his Bachelor of Arts. He earned his Master of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary.
