Jamie Guirola Career
Jamie is excited to be reporting from his hometown. He was born and raised in Miami. At the age of 17, he was NBC 6’s first junior radio announcer.
Guirola is excited to be back where she started and is now a full-time reporter on NBC 6. Guirola joined the station in January 2014 and has more than 15 years of experience in broadcasting and presenting. He has worked at CBS Miami and at various stations around the country; these include WHNS of Greenville, South Carolina; WTVH in Syracuse, New York; and KLAS in Las Vegas and Florida before joining NBC 6 WKMG in Orlando.
His passion for television began at Sunset High School in Miami, where he worked as a television producer. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a bachelor’s degree. He has a BA in Political Science and a minor in Journalism.
As a Miami native, Girola considers it an honor to come home and share stories that matter to her community. In addition to being Big Brother’s mentor, Jamie is also involved in the LGBTQ community. Jamie is a frequent host of the annual Florida Equality Gala and is a member of the Miami Beach LGBTQ Advisory Council.
