Dana Perino an American political commentator and former White House Press Secretary for George W. Bush. She was the twenty-fourth secretary from Sep. 14th, 2007 to Jan. 20th, 2009, and the second female White House Press Secretary after Dee Dee Myers.

Dana Perino’s career began while she was still a college student. She has worked at KTSC-TV and also KCCY-FM radio as a host on the 2 to 6:00 am shift. While she was a student at the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS), she worked as a daily reporter for WCIA Tv covering the Illinois Capitol.

After her graduation, Perino got a chance to work for Congressman Scott Mcinnis as a staff assistant in Washington, D.C. She then worked for Rep. Dan Schaefer for nearly four years as the press secretary until his retirement in 1998.

Her tenure ended after Bush’s administration ended in January 2009. She traveled with her husband in South Africa one day after George Bush left office in January 2009. They went to volunteer in Fish Hoek South Africa at a faith-based organization that manages several programs for people affected by all aspects of HIV and AIDS called Living Hope.
