Rashad Al-Alimi Biography

Rashad al-Alimi is a Yemeni politician who has served as chairman of the Presidential Council since April 7, 2022. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in military affairs from the Kuwait Police College in 1975 and another in arts from Sanaa University in 1977. He graduated and received his doctorate in culture from Ain Shams University in Egypt between 1984 and 1988.

Rashad Al-Alimi Career

Rashad, a member of the National People’s Congress, served as Minister of Internal Affairs from April 4, 2001 to 2008, later became Chairman of the Security Council, and Minister of Supreme and Defense and Security in May 2008. In 2014, he was a member of the Yemen National Dialogue Conference and served as an advisor to President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
