Having begun his career in 1996. He started off by working in Decatur, Illinois after graduating from Columbia College in Chicago. Vascellaro was a news anchor at the WAND-TV station & later headed to Peoria, Illinois, this time joining the WHOI-TV station as a news anchor/reporter.
He moved to Minnesota and joined WCCO-TV as a news anchor & continues to work there to date. His wife Amelia also took a job as an anchor at the network and the two became co-anchors in June 2006. They made history, becoming the first-ever couple to work as co-anchors on a daily news show in the region.
The Society of Professional Journalists recognized Frank with its broadcast award for Investigative Reporting in 2008. He was awarded the 2011 and 2012 Regional Emmy for Best Anchor. Frank and Amelia are deeply involved with the community and frequently serve as the master of ceremonies at some of the Twin Cities premier charity events.

Frank lost almost 20 pounds in one month on the “Paleo Diet”. Frank put on some pounds over the summer and during the Minnesota State Fair. He first visited T.J. McNiff at the Firm to do something about it. He weighed frank and measured him then challenged him to go into the cave.

Amelia started noticing that frank’s face was getting thinner and his jeans got looser which even convinced her to also join the cave. After five weeks, He went to the weigh-in. He dropped 17 pounds and his measurements were really exciting. He was down 2.5 inches around my hips, up 1.5 inches in his chest and down five full inches around my waist.

Frank the son of the parents late Rosalie Marie Vascellaro and her late husband, Sam. His mother died away in June 2018 after a short illness. She was 94 years old at the time of her death.
Vascellaro was a member of the United States Air Force Academy. He transferred from the academy and attended the University of Colorado at Boulder. He graduated with a degree in Broadcasting at Columbia College which is in Chicago, Illinois.
