Ilham Aliyev Biography

Ilham Aliyev is an Azerbaijani politician who has been the fourth president of Azerbaijan since October 31, 2003. He is the former Prime Minister of Azerbaijan.

His family benefited from their ties to state-owned enterprises. Much of the wealth is hidden in a complex network of offshore companies.

In 2012, he was named “Person of the Year” in corruption by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project. Many observers see Aliyev as a dictator.
