Peters’ brother made him a fashion designer in 1971. Peters starred in the musical “Hair” in Paris. She received a letter from the FBI accusing her of running away. She traveled to New Jersey to defend the charge.
He also moved to London in 1973 and changed his name to Clarke Peters because Equity already had some members with the same name. In London, he formed the soul band The Majestics and sang backing vocals on some of Heatwave’s “Boogie Nights” and David Essex and Joan Armatrading’s “Love and Love”. However, he prefers to work in theater because music is not his main goal.
In his first acting role in the West End, he enlisted the help of his friend Ned Sherrin. In 1990, after working with Sherrin in various revues, he created the revue Five Guys Named Moe. The play was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Musical.
He also appeared as an actor on Broadway. He has also won many awards for his acting skills.
