Braun Strowman Biography

Braun Strowman (Adam Joseph Sherr) an American professional wrestler signed to WWE and is the current WWE Universal Champion. He previously competed in the Strongman challenge corporation (ASC) for two years.

Adam Scherr signed a contract with WWE in 2013 and was immediately assigned to the WWE performance center in Orlando, FL. Scherr took up the name Braun Strowman while in Florida and made his professional wrestling debut against Chad Gable at NXT on Dec 19, 2014.

Braun enjoined The Wyatt Family after attacking wrestlers Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns on the 2015 Aug 24 episode of Raw. When joining the Wyatt family, the family was made up of Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, and Erick Rowman. His first WWE pay-per-view match was in a six-man tag team match between The Wyatt Family and Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Chris Jericho at the Night of Champions on Sep 20.

Additionally, Strowman eliminated five opponents (record of most eliminations in a Royal Rumble Match) at the Royal Rumble on Jan 24, 2016. Before separating from the Wyatt Family in 2016, the Wyatt family defeated WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day at Battleground on July 24, 2016.

Strowman was drafted to RAW in 2016 after which he began his singles career. Braun’s first singles match was an easy win against James Ellsworth which he followed with several other easy wins against local wrestlers. Moreover, WWE declared monster Braun eliminated Zayn to win the battle royal on Oct 31 and earn a spot for Team Raw in Survivor Series five-on-five elimination match.

Braun had his first world championship Universal Championship title shot against Kevin Owens on Jan 30, 2017. Strowman won the Universal Championship through disqualification after Roman Reigns attacked him. Braun lost his first match by pinfall against Roman Reigns at WWE Fastlane on March 5.

Strowman challenged Broke Lesnar for the Universal Championship in a fatal four-way match including Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns. Unfortunately for Strowman Lesnar retained his title. Moreover, he challenged Broke Lesnar for the title again at No Mercy wat was unfortunate again.

Furthermore, Braun faced Broke and Kane in a triple threat to determine the number one contender for the Universal Championship. Strowman and Kane lost to Broke who was set to face Roman Reigns. However, Strowman beat Kane in a Last Man Standing match to qualify for the Elimination Chamber match to determine the number one contender for the Universal Championship on Jan 29, 2018.

However, he was eliminated by Reigns after setting a new record for most eliminations in a single Elimination Chamber match by eliminating five wrestlers. Strowman and WWE fan named Nicholas defeated Raw Tag Team Champions Cesaro and Sheamus. Nicholas became the youngest champion in WWE history.

Additionally, Strowman won the Money in the Bank match but was unable to cash in the contract successfully after a couple of trials. On his WWE match against Kevin Owens, he choke-slammed Owens to the announce table from the steel cage which made Owens win the match since his feet hit the floor first per the rules of the Cage match.

Strowman and Rollins teamed up to challenge Gallows and Anderson for the Raw Tag Team Championship on August 19. Rollins and Strowman won the match to be declared the new Raw Tag Team champions. Nevertheless, the duo later lost their titles to Dolph Ziggler and Roode.

Additionally, Strowman won the Intercontinental Title against Shinsuke Nakamura on Jan 31, 2020. Strowman also replaced Roman Reigns to face Goldberg for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 36. He defeated Goldberg to be crowned the new WWE Universal champion.
