Back in December 2019, Rocah announced she’s running for Westchester County district attorney. She is looking to unseat incumbent Anthony Scarpino is a 2020 Democratic Party primary. Mimi said she decided to get involved because of the “hateful policies” and “attacks on the rule of law” by President Donald Trump and U.S. Attorney General William Barr.
“I’ve said this on TV and I’ll probably say it again many times,” she told The Journal News/lohud. “We have a criminal in the White House right now. We have a corrupt head of the Department of Justice.” Rocah, who previously held the position of assistant U.S. attorney in the Southern District of New York from 2001-18, said federal policies are having a direct effect on the state and local level today.
