Christiane Amanpour CBE a British-Iranian foreign correspondent and television host. She works as CNN’s Chief International Anchor and host of Amanpour’s regular interview program for CNN International
She began working in the news department at WBRU-FM in Providence, Rhode Island, and as well worked as an electronic graphics designer for NBC affiliate WJAR in Providence, Rhode Island. She is also Amanpour & Company’s anchor on PBS as well as an ABC News Global Affairs Anchor.

She is the niece (by marriage) of General Nader Jahanbani, who had led the Imperial Iranian Air Force for almost 20 years before he was executed by Islamic Revolutionaries in 1979, and of his younger brother Khosrow, married to Princess Shahnaz Pahlavi.

Amanpour was married to American James Rubin, a former US Assistant Secretary of State and spokesman for the US State Department. The duo first met in 1997 in Bosnia, where Ms. Amanpour was on assignment and Mr. Rubin was traveling with Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright. The couple married on August 8, 1998.

Judith Rubin, the mother of the bridegroom, works at the Bronx Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where she teaches psychiatric-specialized students to perform interviews. The couple divorced in 2018.
