Rick Garcia an American news anchor working for CBS News Los Angeles. He previously worked for 22 years at KTTV-TV and KCOP-TV in Los Angeles, California as well as the host of KTTV’s NFL post-game show “Fox Overtime,” and KTTV’s Major League Baseball post-game show, “Extra Inning.”
He joined KCAL9 and CBS2 as a news anchor back in 2009. While he was the co-anchor of KCAL news, the station became the most-watched prime-time newscast in Southern California during the 2010-11 season.
He has earned several Emmy Awards, the NATPE’s Iris Award, the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s Excellence in Broadcast Journalism award, and the Golden Mikes Award. Garcia started his broadcasting career in the year 1979 at KAVL-AM Radio California as a play-by-play announcer and disc jockey. In 1982, he became sports director for KTN-TV in Palm Springs, California, as well as the following year, moved to KVBC-TV (NBC) in Las Vegas, Nevada, as a weekend sports anchor.
Over the next few years, Garcia anchored sports at KOAT-TV (ABC) in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as well as KTSP-TV (CBS) in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1987, he moved to Los Angeles to handle sports at KTTV (Fox) and later anchored the news at KCOP-TV (UPN).

Garcia eventually went on to anchor KCBS’ Morning show at 4:30 am-7:00 am as well as later, CBS2 News at 5:00, 6:00, and 11 pm. He became a true CBS legend. Garcia also was a host of Fox KTTV’s MLB, Extra Innings, and NFL Fox Overtime.
