He went fishing with his father on a pond and at the age of 7 years old, he was fishing in the ocean shores and got his first Bluefin Tuna. In 1979,he became the first mate of Sea Fox from Atlantic Highland. When he turned 20 years old, he had already earned captain license. Carraro holds a USCG 100-ton Masters License. He has over 30 years of experience in fishing and as a pilot and is the captain of E190 for Jet Blue Airways Corporation.
