Amita Kuttner is a Canadian astrophysicist and politician working as an interim leader of the Green Party of Canada as of November 24, 2021. He is as well the co-founder of Moonlight Institute, a non-profit organization that seeks to create a framework for an equitable and just future.

Dr. Kuttner earned a PhD in astronomy and astrophysics and a MS in physics from the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC); their research focused on black holes and wormholes. He has been a Critic for Science and Innovation for the Green Party of Canada as of September 2018 to February 2020, hence coming up with policy on artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and data privacy.

 He has also been an advocate for diversity and inclusion, with leading Women in Physics and Astronomy at UCSC. They as well co-founded the UCSC chapter of 314 Action, an organization aiming in electing scientists and STEM professionals to public office, and ran the Canadian organization effort for Scientists for Future.
