Hepkins relocated to Baltimore working as a morning news anchor at KMOV-TV. While he was working at News 4 This morning, the newscast soared to the peak rating and the biggest share in the station’s history. He also helped spearhead KMOV’s News 4 Schools, EndViolence STL and Envision for a Better STL campaign with sharing special stories and appearances. Hepkins received three EMMY awards for reporting and contributing to KMOV.
He joined St. Louis by way of Miami working as a leading reporter at WSVN. He as well worked as a replace for Today in Florida, the No. 1-morning newscast in South Florida. From Miami, he moved to to Haiti to chronicle the aftermath of one of the deadliest earthquakes ever reported.
