Her career started at 9&10 News in Cadillac, where she was a general assignment reporter before being promoted to anchor. Before joining 9&10, Ann Marie was a Community Correspondent and interned at CBS/CW50 in Detroit. Ann Marie has traveled the country hosting events, as an auto show presenter and as a freelance journalist.
She was recently awarded Orchards Children’s Services Champions for Children Advocate Award for her work helping recruit foster parents and finding loving families for foster children in Michigan. Ann has been part of WXYZ for five years as an on-air reporter and news anchor. LaFlamme announced her departure from Channel 7 on Monday afternoon on Facebook and Twitter, saying she may not understand the station’s decision, but respects it.
WXYZ news director Rhonda LaVelle, in an email Monday evening replied that the station does not comment on personnel matters. LaFlamme will be leaving the station next Friday according to her post on her social media accounts.

Ann Marrie comes to Detroit from Grand Rapids, where she was a reporter and anchor at FOX 17. During her time there she launched “West Michigan’s Most Wanted” — a series helping local and national law enforcement track down and apprehend dangerous criminals. Ann Marie will continue this work with 7 Action News through “Detroit’s Most Wanted.”
LaFlamme was named anchor for the start of FOX 17’s News at Eleven. LaFlamme worked close by Mitch Fick for the news broadcast airing after FOX 17 News at Ten, which appeared in January 1999, one hour in front of the best West Michigan’s TV stations, which circulated nightly news at 11 p.m.
