Anika Purgament is an American journalist currently working for Charter Communications as a national news anchor. She is on charter from April 2022 She is working at Communications. She hosts breaking news and national content for the Spectrum network of over 30 stations nationwide.
Shortly before joining the new varsity team, Annika was a presenter and co-host of Spectrum’s Mornings On 1, a daily morning show on News NY1. In these roles, she frequently conducted interviews with her CEO, entrepreneurs and executives. In 1994, Annika began working for NY1 as a political reporter covering state and local politics. She joined WCBS in 2000 as her consumer correspondent. After spending time on WCBS and Court TV hosting live trials, Annika returned to NY1 as a reporter on her business.
Annika has been a journalist for many years and she has covered a variety of topics including the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the 2007-2008 economic crisis, Superstorm Sandy and the coronavirus epidemic.
