Auli’i Cravalho Biography

Chloe Auli’i Cravalho is an American actress and singer who made her film debut as the voice of a character in the 2016 Disney 3D computer-animated musical film Moana. He also starred in the NBC series “Rise” (2018), the Netflix series “All Right Now” (2020), and the Hulu romantic comedy “Crush” (2022). Cravalho recently starred as José Cleary-Lopez in the TV series “Power” and the movie “Like a Rockstar.”

Born in Cranvalho, Kohala, Hawaii, USA. In her prime, she lived with her mother in Mililani, Hawaii, and when she graduated from high school, she sang soprano in the cheer club at Kamehameha School’s Kapalama campus. In June 2021, Carvalho announced that he had been accepted to Columbia University and subsequently revealed that he plans to study environmental science at the school.

Carvalho took on the role of 14-year-old Polynesian young princess Moana. She said that when she auditioned, hundreds of girls were submitting multiple jobs via YouTube. But he was spotted at a charity race by an Oahu talent who eventually convinced him to compete. The producers screened hundreds of candidates from across the Pacific Islands before settling on the role of Oriyi.


This movie was released in November 2016 to everyone’s acclaim. The film includes Lin-Manuel Miranda’s song “How Far I’ll Go”, sung by Cravalho, which won the Grammy for Best Song for Visual Media. Carvalho and Miranda performed the song together at the 2017 Academy Awards, and the song was nominated for Best Original Song. That same year, he released the single “How Far I’ll Go”, backed by the B-side “Welcome”.

In February 2017, it was announced that Cravalho would star in an episode of the NBC series “Rise”, which was ordered to be shot on May 4, 2017. The show premiered on March 13, 2018, but NBC canceled the show on May 15, 2018 due to low ratings. Also that same year, Carvalho announced that she would reprise her role as Moana in the first Hawaiian-language Disney film. The dubbed version of “Moana” was released on June 10, 2018.

In addition, Cravalho stars as Ariel in ABC’s “The Little Mermaid” spinoff, “The Little Mermaid Live.” In 2020, he starred in All Together Now, directed by Brett Haley for Netflix.
