Brian Cox is a Scottish actor having worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre, where he gained recognition for his portrayal as King Lear. He is also known for his playing roles in Rob Roy (1995) and Mel Gibson’s Academy Award-winning Braveheart (1995). In 1986, he portrayed Hannibal Lecter on film in the cult classic Manhunter. Brian won two Olivier Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award. He was also nominated for a British Academy Television Award and three Screen Actors Guild Awards. His role as Nazi war criminal Hermann Goering in Nuremberg won him Primetime Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series and nominations at the Golden Globe Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
