She became Miss Teen Michigan in 1999 and when she graduated from high school she traveled around the state to compete in Miss Teen USA (now called Miss Teen USA). While in college, she was the on-air director of the student-run television station WOLV-TV and served as president of the Society of Women Engineers.
Courtney is the second intern ever at WXYZ-TV in Detroit, Michigan, where she worked as an on-air producer for mentors Paul Gross and Chuck Gaidica for two years.
After graduation, he took a break from on-air broadcasting and returned to Elkhart, Indiana, in 2011, where he worked on weekend weather at WSJV-TV (FOX28) until the summer of 2016. She also serves as Michiana. 5K Director and Girls Community Outreach Coordinator.
