David’s father died on January 23, 2021 at 95 years, in his Beverly Hills, California, home. His death announcement was shared on February 2, 2021 by his assistant Joyce Cohen on a Monday night back February 1, 2021. He was burried in McLemoresville Cemeteryaralongside his late wife Carter.
His father was an award-winning actor, television director, and writer. He was famous for his role Mark Twain Tonight! a One-man stage show as Mark Twain. He as well featured on the show from 1954 to 2017 when the show was retired due to his health.
Hal as well served the United States of America military as of 1942 to 1946 as a staff sergeant. Back in 2003, he got honored by President George W. Bush, with National Humanities Medal.
His father was married to first wife Ruby Elaine Johnston in 194 and together had two children before their divorced in 1965. He then married Carol Eve Rossen back in 1966 and had one child before their divorcg in 1983. He later marriedDixie Carter, a singer, and actress in 1984 and were together until Carter’s death in April 2010.
