Gordon Lightfoot a Canadian Singer-Songwriter and guitarist who earned international success in folk, folk-rock, and country music. He further hosted BBC TV’s Country and Western Show, returning to Canada in 1964.

Lightfoot won a competition for boys whose voices had not yet changed. Afterward, he made his first appearance at Massey Hall in Toronto at 12 years of age. He went to Orillia District Collegiate & Vocational Institute (ODCVI).

Furthermore, Gordon was also an accomplished high school track-and-field competitor and set school records for shot put and pole vault. Afterward, he joined McGill University’s Schulich School of Music. He also enrolled at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Music.
