His transitioned from Empowerment Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church in Baltimore, Maryland to Atlanta, Georgia to pastor New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb County in December 2018.

After getting backlash on social media regarding Samuels’ name-calling, referring to the megachurch pastor as a “holy whore,” Bryant expressed he had to respond.
