From January 2004 until 17 January 2010 Rakers produced the Hamburg Daily for local TV Norddeutscher Rundfunk. Rakers has been publishing Tagesschau news on ARD since 2005 and reading news from Tagesthemen, Nachtmagazin and Morgenmagazin.
In addition to Tagesschau, Judith also presents debates 3 and 9 on Radio Bremen. On 14 May 2011, she hosted the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest in Düsseldorf, Germany, alongside Stefan Raab and Anke Engelke.
