He previously served as Host of Arise Review, a weekly Sunday program on the Arise News Network that provides an analysis of global politics, finance, and development issues. He s well partnered with Fire in the Hole Seasonings, a Louisiana-based Cajun spice company. Julian Phillips Career
Phillips is a chef with more than 30 years of culinary experience. Phillips won a celebrity recipe contest in 2005, beating out such notables as William Shatner and Chef Emeril. Currently, he plans to revolutionize the wing industry with his signature “Soundbite” blackened wings and his unique Cajun/Souther/Italian fusion cuisine.
Before this, he served for two years as Communications Director for Congressman Edolphus “Ed” Towns, (D-NY), who was Chairman of the powerful Oversight & Government Reform Committee. He is also the author of “Discovering Your Hidden Power, Unleashing the Power of Words” along with renowned mega-church Pastor and theologian Dr. A.R.
Bernard. This insightful short autobiography demonstrates the power of words and biblical scripture that helped Phillips through personal challenges and crises in his life. As a journalist, Phillips served as a political analyst and made appearances on MSNBC and WPIX-TV. Phillips is perhaps best known nationally as Co-Host of Weekend Fox & Friends shows, the #1 cable morning news show in America from 2002 to 2006.
Prior to his stint on Fox and Friends, he served as an anchor and general assignment reporter for the 24-hour cable news network with Fox News Live. In addition, Julian anchored Fox News Radio updates and covered breaking news for the radio network.
Prior to joining FNC, Phillips served as an on-air correspondent for WPIX-TV (WB Network, currently CW) “News at Ten” in New York, and hosted their weekly community and public affairs program, “Best Talk.” As host, Phillips interviewed numerous local and state politicians, as well as other officials, eventually winning the New York State Broadcasters Award for his stellar work on the program.
While at WPIX, Phillips also co-hosted several live broadcasts including Macy’s annual national telecast of the July 4th fireworks as well as the Puerto Rican Day Parade with pop music star Lisa Lisa. He also co-hosted the Hispanic Parade with film and tv actress Elizabeth Pena. Prior to WPIX-TV, Phillips served as a reporter covering breaking news, as well as manager of community relations for WNBC-TV (NBC) in New York.
Phillips began his career as a desk assistant for ABC Radio Network News. He is a three-time Emmy Award winner and nine-time nominee. He is also the recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Award for excellence in journalism, and a sought after motivational speaker. Some highlights include keynoting the Big Ten Diversity Conference and the Indiana Black Expo Youth Conference. Phillips even received the key to the city of Macon Georgia during their annual Cherry Blossom Festival.
