Karen Attiah is an American author and well-known author, currently a global columnist for the Washington Post. He and David Ignatius received the 2019 George Polk Award for their writing on the murder of colleague Jamal Khashoggi.
Karen was named Journalist of the Year by the National Association of Black Journalists in 2019 for her coverage of the Khashoggi murder. After graduation, she worked as a freelance reporter for the Associated Press in Curacao. Karen joined the Washington Post in 2014.
