Ken South WJTV

Ken started off his broadcasting career back in the fall of 1990 serving as a daily reporter and weekend meteorologist at WXVT in Greenville. He later served as the Chief Meteorologist. Ken returned to Mississippi as the weekend meteorologist for WJTV News Channel 12 after a year at WVTM in Columbus, GA.

Back in January 2001, he joined the News Channel’s 12-morning crew. In the years 2001 and 2010, the Associated Press named his the Best Weathercaster in Mississippi.

Ken lives in Fondren, Mississippi, and enjoys gardening and canning. He as well enjoys tennis and volunteers with the ARF of MS; he has an ARF rescue dog, a CARA rescue dog, an adopted stray, and a senior cat. He as well serves on the board of The Center Players Community Theatre in Madison, and from 2002 to 2011, he was involved in raising funds and awareness for MS HeARTS Against AIDS.
