During her career as a Senator, Reynolds was elected Secretary twice and served as Minister for local government from September 1987 to April 1990.
Therefore, she also played an important role, assisting the women’s Prime Minister from January 1988 to April 1990.
She retired from public law in 1999. After her retirement she continued to work as a lecturer in Law and International Relations at the University of Queensland. While still a politician, Reynolds wrote and published a publication called The Last Bastion: Working Women Struggling for Equality in the Australian Parliament 1995. The book contains explanations of women’s work. From the year the party was founded until the publication of the book, close relations with the Labor Party were maintained.
In 2007, University of Queensland Press published another book, The Constitution. She became president of ABC Friends National Inc. in December 2016. This is the basis for the integration of many friendly states in the Australian region.
