Matt Doran an Australian journalist, presenter, and host and along with Monique Wright they co-hosts the Weekend Sunrise, a breakfast television program on the Seven Network. He previous;y served as a reporter for the Seven Network’s flagship public affairs program, Sunday Night and also as a reporter and presenter at Network Ten.Back in November 2021, he got suspended for two weeks from the Seven Network for failing to well prepare for an interview with British singer Adele.

Doran started off his journalism career working with the News Ltd’s Leader newspaper group as a reporter and senior editor. Back in 2006, he began working for Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper as a police reporter. At Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper, he is known for having covered fires, floods, CBD shootings as well as the gangland war. He thereafter joined Network Ten as a general news reporter and then served as a police reporter.
 
He presented the Ten News at Five: Weekend together with Natarsha Belling in 2011. He then left the show after a year after the show was made a single-presenter show leaving Natarsha Belling as the presenter. He move to work for the Ten News as a fill-in presenter and a senior reporter. Back in November 2013, he began presenting the Ten Eyewitness News Early and Ten Eyewitness News Morning. He was later got replaced by Hermione Kitson on Ten Eyewitness News Early just after some months. He then served as the Ten Eyewitness News Morning presenter until it was canceled in May 2014. The bulletin was canceled and he got back to reporting and later resigned from Network Ten back in May 2015 after working with the network for almost a decade.

He then relocated to the United States where he hosted the Crime Watch Daily, that was first aired on September 14, 2015 and being the show’s original host. He thereafter got back to Australia where hosted the 3rd season of Crimes that Shook Australia on Foxtel’s crime and investigation channel. Back in March 2017, he joined the Seven Network as a reporter on Sunday Night.

On 12th of October he replaced Basil Zempilas as co-host of Weekend Sunrise and in January 2021, he served as the permanent Friday co-presenter of Sunrise together with Natalie Barr.

Back in November 2021, Doran held an interview with British singer Adele. Channel 7 then suspended him for two weeks for not having prepared for the interview. He then apologized to Adele, her fans, and Channel 7 fans and viewers after a week of backlash for his now-infamous stuff-up which has gone all over the world. He said, “This story has sparked a torrent of abuse and mockery from around the world and if I am being honest with you, the bulk of this savaging I deserve and I totally own.”
