Rudi Vranckx is a Belgian journalist working for VRT NWS and reporting on international conflicts in the Middle East. After completing his studies, he became a researcher at the Peace Research Center, where he shot films and videos about war and peace.
At the same time, he took the newspaper exam at a radio and television broadcasting company in Belgium and started working in the media in September 1988. Six weeks later Vranckx moved to television. He got his first big job as a war correspondent in 1989 during the overthrow of Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceaușescu.
