Russ Kun Career

He served as a moderator in the 2003 and 2004 elections. The Queen became Secretary of the Department of Trade, Industry and Resources in 2005. He became Chief Executive Officer in 2008 and Minister of Internal Affairs in 2012.

Before entering Parliament, Russ worked at the Department of Trade, Industry and Environmental Services. Kun also served as a member of the Nauru National Commission for UNESCO from 2008 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2013.

Kun was first elected to the Parliament of Nauru in 2013 as one of four representatives of the Ubenid constituency. She was re-elected in 2016, 2019 and 2022. In the previous Aingimea government, Kun served as Minister of Finance, Port Nauru, Tourism, National Heritage and Museums.

Russ is a member of Global Anti-Corruption Advocates (GOPAC). He led efforts to create a code of ethics for the Parliament of Nauru after attending a GOPAC workshop. For this purpose, he serves as the Chairman of the Ethics Committee of the Board of Directors.

Kuhn is the President of Nauru, elected in the first parliament after the 2022 elections. He was sworn in to the cabinet on September 29. Its responsibilities include legal justice and border management.
