Ryan started off his television career just asfter at 18 at WJAC-TV (NBC) in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. He made visit as middle schooler at the station when he would feature on teen segment ideas to the general manager.
He served as a one-man-band that involved shooting, writing, and editing his stories. He solo anchored his first newscast at the age of19 and there after left the station back in 2005, he as well reported, anchored, and filled-in on the weather segments.

He as well did interviews with Whoopi Goldberg, Diane Sawyer, and Katie Couric.
