Tavares Jones Career
Jones previously worked at WGXA-TV in Central Georgia as a news anchor and reporter for three years covering breaking news and severe weather prior to joining the KNWA News team in Summer 2019. Jones also worked at WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio as a weekend morning anchor/evening reporter. He began his career as an intern at the Orlando, Florida-based NBC News affiliate.
He covered several important news in Northwest Arkansas, including the retrial of Mauricio Torres, the Bella Vista father originally convicted for the rape and murder of his 6-year-old son in Benton County. Jones also helped cover the funeral procession for deceased Fayetteville police officer Stephen Carr, who was killed in the line of duty by a gunman in December of this year.
