Todd McDermott Career
McDermott served as an anchor at the 5 pm and weekend evening newscasts for the CBS flagship station in New York City, WCBS-TV From 2000 to 2004. He covered the September 11th, 2001 attacks in Lower Manhattan. He as well reported and anchored from Ground Zero on the one-year anniversary of 9/11. He as well co-anchored the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscast on WUSA (TV) in Washington, DC from September 2004 until September 2008.
He then joined WPXI-TV, the NBC affiliate in Pittsburgh. Working as a co-anchor of the weekday morning and noon newscasts after leaving WUSA. He then relocated to co-anchor the weeknight newscasts at WPBF, the ABC affiliate in West Palm Beach, Florida in October 2012. On his first day at WPBF on October 22, he led a team from WPBF-TV to Havana, Cuba to report live on historic diplomatic talks between the Obama administration and the Castro regime in January 2015.
